Ugh, I feel like I contact one department and they tell me to contact someone else, and then they tell me to contact the first department! It's like going in circles. This is the response I got when I approached them about speed bumps:
This was the response I got from VDOT:
"Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request at this time for the following reason:
VDOT no longer installs speed bumps. Please call your local police who handle enforcement of the speed limit. If you believe you have received this message in error, or that our records need to be updated, please call our Customer Service Center at 1-800-367-7623.
Please call the Customer Service Center if you have further questions. We appreciate your efforts to help keep Virginia roads safe."
If you would be comfortable approaching your contact, then I would definitely be on board for being part of a group to initiate some sort of traffic calming committee.
