I have to admit, while I'm looking forward to having running water again, I will miss the quiet of no traffic. I'm wondering how long we can keep the rumor going that the road is still blocked 🤣🤣🤣🤣 l do love how our community comes out to help each other during these situations. Our yard became the bypass for folks walking around the downed lines so we were able to catch up with some folks we haven't seen in a while and even meet some new neighbors

Dominion came this morning and cleared the dead lines, VDOT has moved the trees so Rectortown Rd is open now. The main hub coming out of Warrenton is still broken south of Marshall, once thats fixed then Rectortown is next. Dominion guys say perhaps by tonight power will be restored.

Patty, there actually was a traffic study done in Feb of 2020. It didn't help our cause. Tons of traffic (about 1900 cars per day) but average speed was 28mph

I've talked to Mike Motion a few times who was also heavily involved in the Rt 50 project which included Aldie, Upperville and the roundabouts by Gilberts Corner et all. I can confirm it was a years-long fight. Did you all get my email? There are some other non-traditional options we should consider.

I spoke to the lady here in town who actually designed them. She said it was a project that was commissioned 15 years ago locally so I don't believe any toes would be stepped on with some motivated neighbors giving them a facelift. Hank Levin, who heads up Friends of Rectortown said someone brought up even making them larger.

Im for anything. I've heard in the past there were concerns around noise from the bumps, similar concerns about a proposal of a 3-way stop sign at Maidstone/Rectortown. As the only person in town with a stop sign in his actual front yard, I'll tell you no stop/go is louder than a pickup accelerating at 40mph up the hill or 18 wheeler jake-braking at the last minute before the bridge.
